Healing

What is Healing? How to Approach

As a definition , Cambridge Dictionary defines it this way;

“The process in which a bad situation or a painful emotion ends or improves”….

If we dare to look at a little deeper than that however , do bad emotions fully improve or end all together?

During my work as Therapist and prior to that as a Mental Health worker I have come across many situations where emotions can be hard to improve let alone cure them forever. So where does healing fits in this and what does it really means?

I have always been slightly sceptical to western medicine , while in the same time I totally respect the fact that there are situations / illnesses in life that would improve greatly with the use of medicines but is not the only response.

So, Healing to me means the acknowledgment of an area or a part/pattern of our personality or our approach to a situation in our life that we have come to understand and feel that it might not be supporting us or bringing us joy in life. (long interpretation, I know :) ).

So therefore our first helping step then remains to be acknowledgment, or our awareness towards this part/pattern , so am I right then to think that without awareness there is no Healing???

Awareness in itself is the act of becoming aware that something is happening or exist, bringing to your consciousness something that has been operating unconsciously. ““Awareness in short, is the precursor to change.” With this in mind, healing then becomes a journey that we take to become and remain conscious or aware of what we do/think and act, and change what needs to be changed if these are no longer bringing any joy, peace and abundance in our life.

So lets put this in some steps to consider about the process of Healing!

Once you have become aware/conscious of an area/patterns in your personality or approach to life, that you find is no longer aligning with how you truly want to feel /be , spend some time reflecting on this area and become very clear or aware as to what actually can be different or changed.

What comes next after awareness is HOW we can put that into action and the steps we need to take to line up our dreams and desires with our life or with what we feel we want to be/become.

After you realize what is that need/want to change , you can then start to UNDO any parts of you that have become accustomed to some restriction and are creating hurt or inner blockage.

Recognise also that your body might be holding some fears and could have stored some memory of trauma or hurt, this is what needs to be Healed or released, which then moves you to an energy cleanse that you will go through as you move into this process.

in short this is how healing works. When we are ready to shed an old pattern, we ALSO shed the emotions associated with HOW or WHY the pattern was created in the first place. It is why healing can be an emotional journey of release, and one we tend to do in layers and steps, so that our body and energy field can acclimatize to each new stage as we walk through it.

So, be kind to yourself and your process, always. It takes time to reverse-engineer our energy fields. Give yourself the kudos that you are aiming yourself toward healing, and then give yourself the grace and space to be loving and kind to yourself as old feelings and thoughts surface when they are on the way out.

Let the healing take whatever time it needs. You have time.

STAY AWARE OF THIS PROCESS, and your awareness of the process can then be your ally as you go through it.

Wishing you much love and light ! :)
